Les Alzines celebrates a 100% pass rate in the Diploma Programme (DP) of the International Baccalaureate (IB)

We are delighted to announce that the six students enrolled in the Diploma Programme (DP) of the International Baccalaureate (IB) at Les Alzines this year have all passed with excellent results. A 100% pass rate confirms our school as a regional leader in high-level international education.

“Studying the IB opened doors and helped me grow” Student, Class of 2025

What is the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme?

The DP is a demanding educational programme for students aged 16 to 19, which combines:

  1. Six subjects across different areas of knowledge
  2. An Extended Essay, equivalent to the national research project
  3. Theory of Knowledge (TOK), which fosters critical thinking
  4. A Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) programme that promotes involvement in artistic, physical and social initiatives

Subjects are taught in Catalan and Spanish, just like in the national Baccalaureate, but students can choose to take their exams in Spanish, French, or English. Recognised worldwide, the Diploma Programme offers a rigorous academic education with a strong focus on human values, critical thinking, and an international outlook.

What are the benefits for our students?

  • International recognition, especially by top universities around the world
  • Development of key skills for the future: critical thinking, research, communication and independence
  • A comprehensive and well-rounded education that connects theory with real life
  • Dual access route to Catalan universities through UNEDassis accreditation, allowing students to benefit from the highest mark between their national and IB programmes

17 years educating global citizens

Since 2008, Les Alzines has been offering the Diploma Programme in small groups alongside the national Baccalaureate. The outcome: students with the skills to think, analyse, argue, and act responsibly in a complex world.

Voices of experience: alumni testimonials

  • Feli Fabri (International Relations, King's College London) says that the International Baccalaureate (IB) opened many doors for her professional career.
