3rd ESO - Preparation for the DELF A2 Junior Exam

Dear families,

We are writing to inform you that we would like to propose to the 3rd ESO students who study French to take the DELF A2 Junior exam, which will take place at the Alliance Française on June 7th, 2025.

The DELF A2 is an official certificate that certifies basic-level French language skills. This certification is highly valued, as it not only recognizes language proficiency but also helps improve future academic and job opportunities.

Advantages of obtaining the DELF A2 Junior:

  • Official recognition: The certificate is internationally recognized and can be an advantage in future studies.
  • Motivation: Preparing for the exam helps students improve their language skills and gain confidence in communication.
  • Structured learning: The preparation for the exam offers a structured approach to improving French language skills.

The DELF A2 Junior exam consists of four main parts:

  1. Listening comprehension: Students listen to several audio recordings and answer questions about the content. This section assesses the ability to understand the language in everyday situations.
  2. Reading comprehension: Students read short texts and answer related questions. This part checks their ability to understand simple texts, such as advertisements or emails.
  3. Writing: Students are required to write a short text, such as a letter or a message. This part evaluates their ability to express themselves in written French.
  4. Speaking: Students participate in a conversation with an examiner, answering questions and communicating simply about familiar topics. This part of the exam takes place on a different day from the written test.

Each section of the exam is designed to assess basic language skills, and the total duration of the exam is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

We hope this information is helpful, and we encourage students to participate in the preparation for this exam, which will undoubtedly benefit their learning of the French language.

If you have any further questions or need more details, do not hesitate to contact us.

We encourage all students to take part in this initiative, which will not only enrich their knowledge of French but also open new doors for them in the future.

Sincerely,

Núria Vilà
Deputy Director of ESO 1 to 3
