1st BTX - Final course information

Dear 1st year high school families,

Below we detail information of interest for this end of the year:

1. Final Exams

They will do them from Thursday 6 to Wednesday 12 June. Study afternoons will start on Tuesday the 5th and end on Wednesday the 12th.

During these days, classes are no longer held and the students can go home, once they have finished the exam or exams. Whether they are from the compacted or non-compacted timetable, the exams will start at 9:00am.

These final exams are to be able to pass the different subjects of the course, if there are suspended assessments; or to be able to raise the grade of the average of the three evaluations of the BTX 1st year subjects. We encourage students who apply to improve their grade point average and, therefore, take exams in different subjects. We remind you that 1st year grades are very important for the final Baccalaureate report.

The dining room service will work the same for all students who use it.

2. Organization of the last days of the course

From Thursday 13 to Wednesday 19 June, the attendance of 1st year students at school is compulsory from 9:00 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.

The following workshops and activities will be held:

  1. Research work/monograph with explanatory sessions, interviews with the research tutor and personal research work, bearing in mind that the students have all the facilities of the school: classrooms, laptops, laboratory... The work done these days will count for 15% of the grade of the Research Work process. During the summer months, students must finish the Research Work/Monograph to be able to deliver the draft to the research tutor in the first week of the 2nd year of BTX. The final delivery will be on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
  2. On Friday, June 14, the theatrical performance will take place by the students who have taken the Theater elective during this last term.
  3. Workshops for IB students and work on IB research and assignments.
  4. The dining room service will work the same for all students who use it.

3. Exams Extraordinary assessment:

Thursday 20 and Friday 21 June
