PRIMARY - Year of Reading

PROJECT: “SHARING BOOKS”

Dear families,

With the aim of enriching our students' education and fostering a love for reading, we are delighted to announce a new initiative that we would like to launch at the school: a book collection and exchange project for students aged 6 to 12.

The goal of this project is to offer students the opportunity to discover new books, promote the value of sharing, and contribute to creating a more cohesive educational community through reading.

How will it work?

We ask for your collaboration by bringing a reading book appropriate for your child's age (between 6 and 12 years old) to the school. This book should not only be engaging and entertaining but also convey civic and ethical human values such as respect, solidarity, cooperation, or diversity. Once delivered, the child will be able to choose another book from those collected to continue enjoying reading at home.

Points to consider:

  • The book should be in good condition.
  • It should be appropriate for the indicated ages (6-12 years).
  • It should contain content that promotes positive and enriching values.

Why is your participation important? With this exchange, we aim to encourage the habit of reading among children while instilling the importance of sharing and giving books a second life. Your children will have the opportunity to access new titles they might not have discovered otherwise, while also learning the value of giving away items we no longer use for the benefit of others.

The activity will begin on November 4th. Students can hand in the books directly to their tutors.

We encourage you to participate actively and make this initiative a success! Together, we can continue building a supportive educational community committed to civic values.

Thank you very much for your cooperation.

Best regards,

Elisenda Gómez
