ESO - Uniform

Dear Secondary School Families,

As discussed during the parents' meeting, for the 2024-2025 academic year, we aim to reinforce the school’s existing policy on uniform, makeup, and nails. This policy will be strictly enforced starting Monday, October 7th.

Uniform

Students must wear the uniform every school day, except when explicitly instructed otherwise. It is important that students follow the guidelines regarding the proper way to wear the uniform, including cleanliness, maintenance, and specific instructions, such as skirt length.

The classroom uniform consists of:

  • Skirt (both the old model and the new model are allowed).
  • White or maroon polo shirt (old model, new model).
  • Navy blue pullover sweater.
  • Navy blue or black jacket.
  • Navy blue or black socks or tights.
  • Navy blue or black shoes (no boots, sandals, or sports shoes, unless there is a medical prescription).
  • Plain scarf or neckerchief (in blue, green, red, or white, same as the skirt).
  • Navy blue sweatshirt, unique to the school uniform.

Procedure in case of uniform policy violations:

  1. First warning: The personal tutor will send an email to the family explaining the reason for the warning.
  2. Second warning: The personal tutor will call the family to communicate the consequences if the issue is not resolved.
  3. Third warning: If the student does not resolve the issue, the family will be informed that the student will not be allowed to attend school until the uniform is worn correctly. If the issue concerns the skirt length, the student will be required to wear school-provided trousers and return them clean within two days, along with a fixed skirt. If not, the student must remain at home until the problem is resolved.

Makeup

  • 1st and 2nd years of Secondary School: No makeup is allowed.
  • 3rd and 4th years of Secondary School: Discreet makeup is allowed, but no false eyelashes or lipstick.
  • Piercings in the nose and/or lips are strictly prohibited.

Nails

Students are allowed to have painted nails throughout Secondary School, preferably in discreet colors and strictly plain, without glitter or accessories. Nail length must not exceed the length of the fingers and should not interfere with writing or physical activities.

Procedure in case of makeup or nail policy violations:

  1. First warning: The personal tutor will call the family and agree on a timeframe to resolve the issue.
  2. Second warning: The personal tutor will call again to remind the family that this is a repeat offense and warn of the consequences if it happens again.
  3. Third warning: The personal tutor will call to inform the family of the consequences: if it is a makeup issue, the student will be required to stay home for one day. If it concerns nails, the student will not be allowed into class until their nails are corrected and will have to sit in the hallway with a desk.

Collaboration with Families

This week, tutors will address these matters with the students during homeroom. We kindly ask for your support from home. We are in the middle of your daughters’ educational process, and it is important that they not only learn to respect the rules but also understand and internalize them. This will only be achieved if we all work together.

For any questions, the personal tutors are available to assist you.

Sincerely,

Núria Vilà                                      Judit Acín
