6th PRIM - THEME CAMPS

Dear family,

As already reported at the beginning of the course parents meeting, your daughters will have the opportunity to participate in the THEME CAMPS which consists in spending 4 days of “colonies” outside of school and speaking exclusively in English. It is an activity that we organize with great enthusiasm. And it is also done in order to be a step forward in the acquisition of English oral competence.

This activity is included in the framework of the English teaching project and also within the Les Alzines student training plan. 

We believe that the fact of enjoying 4 days of total immersion in English outside home will be beneficial for the student, both for oral communication in this language, as for her personal growth and the improvement in virtues such as friendship, companionship, generosity, obedience... And will help them grow in personal autonomy. We would like everyone to participate.

All this will be done by working on a curricular topic in the area of ​​Knowledge of the Natural Environment (Science), The Human Body. 

The organization in charge is Home to Home, a company dedicated to the development of educational programs, which has worked on the programming of the didactic activities that will be done during those days, has contacted native teachers and has made the intermediation with the house of “colonies” .

We will leave school on Tuesday, April 14th at 9 a.m. and we will return on Friday, April 17th at 4:30 p.m., in order to catch the buses on the school route. The colonies house is "Can Sans de Fallines" (Viladesens), which is 25 km from Girona. 

Students should NOT carry mobile phones or other devices that do not favor living with their classmates. In case that you must communicate with your daughters we will have a contact phone number, the number of which we will provide you a few days before the departure. 

Students must go without a uniform. During the next weeks we will send you the schedule, the programming of the activities and the necessary material for the colonies. 

Depending on the number of students who, for various reasons, cannot attend THEME CAMPS, we will assess what type of activities will be done at school. Also working on the same subject as their classmates, although in a different way. 

The overall price of the activity is 285€ per student and includes the following: 

            Round trip bus

            Accommodation and full board

            Workshops and daily English classes with native teachers/monitors

            Evening activities with native teachers/monitors

            Insurance

            Pedagogical material

A receipt for that amount will be passed during the last fortnight of March, or in a fractional way in 3 monthly installments. You can mark the option that best works for you the form. If you don’t say something, the totality receipt will be passed. 

We would appreciate your daughters returning the signed attached bulletin to the tutor before Friday, March 20.
